The 2024 British Open will take place this week at Royal Troon Golf Club in Troon, South Ayrshire, Scotland. The Open Championship will be the final major of the 2024 golf season. This years tournament is the 152nd Open Championship and it will be the tenth time the tournament is held at the Old Course of Troon.
Scottie Scheffler is the favourite heading into the tournament having won 6 tournaments this year, including the Masters Tournament in April. He’s the undisputed #1 golfer in the world, and is the deserved favourite. Rory McIlroy is the second favourite after finishing second at the US Open last month. Xander Schauffele, Ludvig Aberg, Bryson DeChambeau, and Collin Morikawa are the other top contenders.

My favourite play this week is Cam Smith at odds of 45-1. He seems to have found his game with Top 10 finishes in two LIV Golf tournaments following the US Open. Smith won the British Open two years ago, and if he plays his best golf he should be in the hunt again this year.
