The Professional Fighters League, more commonly referred to as PFL, has become the #2 MMA Promotion in North America, next to only the UFC. The PFL was founded in 2018 and the promotion has continuously grown since launching, most recently acquiring Bellator in 2023.
The main difference with the PFL format is that fighters compete in multiple fights across a season, earning points for their performances. The top four fighters in the weight class then move on to the semi-finals, with winners advancing to a final fight with a $1,000,000 prize on the line. The PFL has had a lot of success with this “league” format, but they’ve also allowed room for Super Fight pay-per-view events with fights that take place outside of the season format, with MMA superstars such as Francis Ngannou and Cris Cyborg headlining these type of events.

The main bet on PFL fights is wagering on the fight winner. The “to win” odds are shown on the PFL page for all upcoming fights.
Here’s an example of how the fighter winner odds look on the Sports Interaction website using the Usman Nurmagomedov vs Paul Hughes fight from PFL Champions Series 3: Nurmagomedov vs Hughes 2.
In this example, Usman Nurmagomedov is the favourite with odds of 1.40. A $100 bet on Nurmagomedov would payout $140 if he earned the win. Hughes is the underdog with odds of 3.00, which indicates a $100 bet on Hughes would payout $300 if he won the fight.
