How To Bet On 2026 US Open Golf From Canada

By Golf

The 2026 US Open, the third of the four majors this golf season, takes place this week (June 18th to 21st) at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Southampton, New York. It’s the sixth time the historic Long Island course has hosted the championship, and the first since Brooks Koepka won here back in 2018.

Scottie Scheffler is the favourite to win the tournament. The world #1 arrives chasing history, as a win at Shinnecock would complete the career Grand Slam and make him just the seventh man ever to capture all four major championships. There’s an extra layer to it too, with Sunday’s final round landing on Scheffler’s 30th birthday. His 2026 season has been quieter than his recent run of dominance, with a single victory at The American Express back in January, but he’s stayed a regular near the top of leaderboards and remains the clear betting favourite. Rory McIlroy and Jon Rahm are the next two on the board, with Xander Schauffele, Cameron Young and Tommy Fleetwood among the other top contenders according to the odds.

The US Open moves to a different course most years, but it’s always set up as a brutal test of golf, which generally allows the cream to rise to the top.  Shinnecock, with its firm fescue, rolling terrain and small, tilted greens, will be no exception, and I expect one of the elite players in the game to once again claim the title.  On this page I will look at the current odds for the favourites, give my top betting pick for the tournament and finish with a 3 step guide to help you get your bets in on this years US Open if you live in Canada.

US Open Winner Odds

Scottie Scheffler is the favourite heading into the tournament at odds of 6.50, with the career Grand Slam storyline drawing plenty of attention his way. Rory McIlroy is the second favourite at 12.00 as he looks for his first US Open title in 15 years, while 2021 champion Jon Rahm sits just behind at 13.00. From there the market opens right up, with Cameron Young and Xander Schauffele at 21.00, and Ludvig Aberg, Matt Fitzpatrick and Tommy Fleetwood all priced at 23.00.

I’m looking at Tommy Fleetwood at odds of 23.00 as the pick to provide real value in this field. Fleetwood has unfinished business at Shinnecock, where he finished runner-up in 2018 after a closing round of 63, and he arrives in good form with recent top-five finishes at the Truist Championship and the Memorial Tournament. Now the reigning FedEx Cup champion, he’s widely regarded as the best player yet to win a major, and a demanding US Open setup that rewards precise approach play and a sharp short game sets up nicely for him.
