How To Bet On 2020 US Open Golf From Canada

By Golf

The 2020 US Open, the second of just three majors this golf season, takes place this weekend at Winged Foot Golf Club in New York.  The top players in the world are at the top of their games with Dusting Johnson heading into the tournament as the favourite after his FedEx Cup win. Tiger Woods is also putting some good rounds together of late and with him in the tournament there’s going to be a ton of attention on this years US Open.

The US Open moves courses every year, but it’s always set up as a very difficult test of golf, which generally allows the cream to rise to the top and I expect one of the elite players in the game to once again claim the title.  On this page I will look at the current odds for the favourites, give my top betting pick for the tournament and finish with a 3 step guide to help you get your bets in on this years US Open if you live in Canada.

US Open Winner Odds

Dustin Johnson is the favourite heading into the tournament after his FedEx Cup victory. He finished T2 at the PGA Championship at the beginning of August and followed that up with a win at the Northern Trust and a second place finish at the BMW Championship before utilizing his -10 start to win at East Lake.

I’m looking at Collin Morikawa at odds of 18/1 to win this tournament and follow up his PGA Championship win with his second straight major championship. Morikawa struggled at the Northern Trust, which is to be expected after winning your first major title, but he’s got things back on track with a 20th place finish at the BMW Championship that included 68’s in the third and fourth rounds. He then went under 70 in his final three rounds at the Tour Championship to finish in 6th place. I expect Morikawa to be able to keep the ball in the fairway, avoid trouble, and stay near the top of the leaderboard for a push for the win on Sunday. I like him at 18-1.

My darkhorse pick is Rickie Fowler at 66-1. He’s struggled this season, but the few weeks off may have done him some good. If he can bring his A-game to Winged Foot, I think he could be a contender in this field. Fowler has the tools, he just has to put it all together for four rounds. You generally see Fowler at odds of closer to 30-1 in these type of tournaments, so even with his recent form I think there is value at 66-1.
