The 2026-27 NBA season tips off on Tuesday, October 20th. Each team will play a full 82 game schedule running through April 11th, followed by the Play-In Tournament from April 13th to 16th and the start of the playoffs on April 17th. The NBA Finals are scheduled for June 2027.
On this page I will look at the current NBA Championship odds, break down some of the popular bets you can make on an NBA game and also give you a simple 3 step guide to follow when you’re ready to place your first NBA bet.
2027 NBA Championship Betting Odds

The Spurs and Thunder are the co-favourites at 3.60. San Antonio reached the NBA Finals last June, while Oklahoma City won the title the year before. The Knicks are the defending champions after beating the Spurs 4-1 in the Finals, but they are priced at 11.00 to repeat, behind both co-favourites and the 76ers at 9.50.
The Raptors are 26.00 to win the NBA Title, the same price as the Cavaliers, Nuggets and Timberwolves. Toronto finished 46-36 last season as the 5th seed in the East before losing a seven game first round series to Cleveland, and they enter this season as one of only nine teams priced at 26.00 or shorter.
Popular NBA Betting Options
The three most popular bets in a basketball game are the point spread, money line and over/under bets. Let’s look at a quick example of each using a screenshot from Sports Interaction for the Raptors season opening game vs the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday, October 21st.
Point Spread
In this example there is a 9.5 point spread in this game in favour of Toronto. This is indicated by the (-9.5) beside the Raptors and the (+9.5) beside the Bulls. A spread bet on the Raptors wins if Toronto wins the game by 10 or more points, while a spread bet on the Bulls wins if Chicago either wins the game outright or loses by 9 or fewer.
Money Line
The money line bet is a straight up wager on which team will win the game. The odds vary depending on if the team is the favourite or the underdog. In this example, we already know that the Raptors are 9.5 point favourites, so it’s no surprise that their money line odds are just 1.25. This means that any bet amount can be multiplied by 1.25 to find the payout of a Raptors win. For example, a $100 bet on the Raptors would pay out $125 for winnings of $25 if they won the game. On the flip side, a $100 bet on the Bulls at 4.10 would pay out $410 for winnings of $310 if Chicago pulled off the upset.
Over/Under
The over/under is a wager on the total number of points to be scored in the game by both teams combined. The over/under for this game is set at 236.5. If 237 or more points are scored then the over bets would pay out, while if 236 or fewer points are scored in the game then the under bets would pay out.
