The 2023 MLB Playoffs will once again begin with 12 teams qualifying for the postseason. The top two division winners in the American and National leagues will receive first-round byes into the Division Series, while the 3rd to 6th place finishers in each league will play in best-of-three Wild Card series. The winners will advance to the Division Series, which will be best-of-five games, followed by the League Championship Series and World Series, both of which are best-of-seven. The World Series is expected to begin on October 27th.
The Toronto Blue Jays qualified as the 6th seed in the American League and will play the Minnesota Twins, who secured the 4th seed by winning the AL Central, in a Wild Card Series. If Toronto advances they will meet the second seeded Houston Astros in the Division Series.
