The 2026 MLB Playoffs will once again feature 12 teams, six from each league. The top two division winners in the American and National leagues receive first-round byes into the Division Series, while the other four teams in each league play in best-of-three Wild Card series starting Tuesday, September 29th. The winners advance to the best-of-five Division Series, followed by the League Championship Series and World Series, both of which are best-of-seven. The World Series begins on Friday, October 23rd.
The Tampa Bay Rays earned the #1 seed in the American League and will face the winner of the Yankees vs Red Sox wild card series in the ALDS. The Cleveland Guardians are the AL #2 seed and will face the winner of the Astros vs White Sox series. In the National League, the Milwaukee Brewers and Los Angeles Dodgers earned the top two seeds and will face the winners of the Padres vs Cubs and Braves vs Phillies wild card series.
